South Downs Way Miles of lovely countryside stretching from Eastboume to Winchester and now a National Park. Excellent for walking and cycling. There are maps and books on the South Downs in the accomodation.
Ditchling Beacon A short drive to this lovely spot. Head for Plumpton/Ditchling. Find the Jack and Jill windmills or walk back to Lewes, over Black Cap taking in the sights of Plumpton and the Black Cap Nature Reserve.
Beachy Head Very dramatic chalk cliff area with fantastic views out to sea.
Seven Sisters Country Park Lovely spot between Lewes and Eastboume. Cuckmere Valley takes you down to the beach. Great for walking and cycling. A27 towards Eastbourne, turn off and head for Alfriston, carry on through the pretty village and head towards Seaford.
Ashdown Forest Miles and miles of beautiful forest. Excellent for walking and picnics, with great pubs nestled in the villages around the forest.
Arlington Reservoir A short drive along the A27 towards Eastbourne brings you to this tranquil reservoir area. A nice walk around the perimeter and then a pub lunch in the nearby village.
